New Ulm High School Sports and Rivalry

New Ulm competes in the South Central Conference, which includes public high schools for Blue Earth area, Fairmont, St. James, St.Peter and Waseca. Waseca has been perhaps the most interesting rivalry ever since a few Blue Jays toilet papered NUHS. That incident happened on the eve of Waseca's Homecoming game against New Ulm. The most recent addition to this list is Mankato West. The rivalry really kicked off in the semifinal round in the 2007 hockey season when a fight broke out on the ice after the game. The fighting spread to the fans out in the parking lot of the Mankato Civic Center.

NUHS Today

Due to recent budget cuts for school funding from the state, the New Ulm Middle School had to shut down and now shares space with the New Ulm High School.[1]
